Allowing it to walk through stone without leaving traces, not just horizontally either. The Core Spawn Seer not only has Magic Resistance but also has Earthglide. It also has an extremely nasty trait, Psychic mirror which can be used with the following 2 creatures to make the PCs that got into melee range with it realize how foolish they have been.īoth clocked in at CR 13 The Core and Star Spawn Seers are debilitating to fight. Not only can it Stun(Con DC 17) PCs while dealing a total of 6d8+10 (bludgeoning: 4d8+10, Psychic: 2d8) damage to that same PC, it can do so from 10 feet away AND can hit every creature within 10 feet with a single slam attack recharging on a 5-6 of a d6. With its 20-foot radius charm effect, and it's targeted poison Damage over Time effect backed up by 3 fairly nasty 2d10+3 Talon attacks and magic resistance it can present a very nasty threat to the unsuspecting party, or a party who assumes it will be a very different creature based upon it's appearance.Ĭlocking in at CR 10, The Star Spawn Hulk is a powerful brute. ![]() For your 6th level PCs the Core Spawn Emissary(CR 6) presents a unique and deceptively nasty threat. 1/2 the time it can make 6 attacks which can devastate a PC if they're caught off guard with the additional 2d6 psychic damage it deals to enemies who haven't acted yet potentially saving the weaker Spawn from an unfortunate Wizard's fireball and prolonging what could have been a simple fight. Both of these spawn of the far realm are amazing on their own and are made even better when you add them together for the invading forces from beyond the realms of what should exist.Īt all levels, the Star and Core spawn are a serious threat, with the Star Spawn Grue(CR 1/4) making PCs have great difficulty hitting its allies and acting as de facto suicide attack eaters who debuff enemies while they keep breathing, and Core Spawn Crawlers(CR1) having 4 attacks and pack tactics they can become terrifying to fight even for some parties well beyond 1st level with a few of each sprinkled in.
